S.V.P.A.P. project rescue Event (June 1st-22nd 2012)

Dear Designers,

I am writing to request your help for the SVPAP (Sociedad Valenciana Protectora de Animales y Plantas), an animal protection association .

Unfortunately, because of budget cuts and public administration´s delays, debts with suppliers and workers have been generated . Now there will be a judicial recovery of debts, and they don’t have the money to pay it.

This non-profit organization needs OUR help now. In the shelter there are 500 dogs and cats, and with this debts, the consequence can be the closing of the place, and a death sentence for all these
animals.

In ROOM
Because of this, I ask for YOUR HELP. “SVPAP Project Rescue” is an event (Starts 1 June – Ends 22 June) where all the items donated by designers will 100% benefit SVPAP. You can donate old or new items, but we are always asking for quality.

For those who want to donate only a percentage of an item (30%, 50% , 75% o 90%), you can help from your own shop, specifying the percentage that will be donated from the sale of the item.

This event needs to be promoted as widely as possible, andthat is  why we call you and ask for your help for these animals in this complicated situation.
Please, consider helping the animals we love so much, today 500 animals from SVPAP need us.

Daffodil’s Festival May 13-22 2012

The Gatcha Addiction Group proudly presents the Daffodil’s Gatcha Festival!

So you might ask yourself… what’s a GACHA ??
Gachas: … most time, they are little cute looking machines, offering a choice of products for one price you set (lower than regular pricing!!). Goods are given by principle of contingency. So the gacha is a random item giver !!

“it’s fun, it’s good quality … try your luck !”

And… how works the festival?
TP to the skygarden SLurl and you will find a flowergarden there. Designers offer their Gacha goodies in the daffodil’s.
The flowers are the Gacha vendors, the butterflies are the direct Teleporter to the designer’s shop.  At the shops you will find some potted Gacha vendors, offering more goodies. The butterflies on the potted Gacha’s will route you back to the Skygarden.

This is a short and simple instruction on how to setup your gatcha machine in the skygarden

1. Buy the daffodil gatcha for 0L (you can buy 2 or more when you need them)

2. Put your items inside (they have to be no copy/transfer)

3. Open the script inside the gatcha and set the pricing (atm it is set to 5L a try)

4. Put your display texture that shows the items you offer onto the white box (edit, select texture)

5. Rename your gatcha with your store name, for example “[[A.R.C.+F.N.]] Breakfast @ Petite Gatcha”

6. Edit linked parts and click the little red or blue butterfly that is resting on your gatcha. It contents a direkt teleport script. Put your store landmark inside and it will open the teleport map anytime someone touches it.

Trunk Show Launches Fashion Icon in Second Life

Trinidad Fashion Designer Meiling Brings Signature Style to Virtual Fashion

Second Life (29 April 2011) – May 1st will mark the launch of globally inspired designs by real world fashion icon Meiling in the virtual world of Second Life. The Trinidad-based designer is renowned for her work in fine linens and natural fabrics as well as her successful fashion lines and cutting edge runway shows.

In addition to Meiling couture and bespoke wedding wear, the designer also owns MSQUARED signature-styled affordable fashions, Meiling resort wear, and Meiling Limited Edition uniforms. In May she takes her innovations digital with a series of events in Second Life that will rock the virtual fashion scene.

Meiling’s designs pair the haunting flavor of the Caribbean with the whimsy of Tokyo street style to create a chic fashion look that channels the artist in everyone.

“Dressing is about a sense of occasion, about feeling special. The relationship between personality and garment is very important,” says Meiling.

Born in Trinidad, Meiling has always had an interest in fashion and began designing as a young girl. After attending the Lucie Clayton School of Design in London, she returned to Trinidad and Tobago to set up her first studio and retail outlet. Today her designs are worn by celebrities such as Chef Wolfgang Puck and former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam.

Meiling’s entry into virtual fashion may well be the first introduction of a Caribbean-based designer in Second Life.

“What makes this so exciting and different is that Meiling’s design can be categorized with the innovative and original talents of Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo, a line that originally started in Japan.  With so many designers in SL, we have so little in this category.  It will definitely expand our scope of styling to a whole new area,” says spokesperson Chigadee London.

Meiling was one of only two designers in the English-speaking Caribbean to show at the 2010 Plataforma K in Colombia. This year she was invited once again to return to this prestigious South American fashion event as the only designer representing the English-speaking Caribbean at large.

This year she also received the 2011 Women of Influence Award from the Association of Female Executives of Trinidad & Tobago for her innovation and business acumen.
“A major launch of such a great and established real life talent in SL will definitely be major publicity material for SL itself and will raise the importance of SL fashion,” London says.  “As we all know, fashion represents a major economic activity in this virtual world and I have high hopes that this launch will contribute to raising SL fashion to a new and higher level.”

Meiling’s May 1st launch in Second Life includes the SLT Meiling Trunk Show and Q&A with media and bloggers at BOSL Country Club beginning at 10 a.m. immediately followed by a grand opening party at her store and then, on the evening of May 7th, a runway show with BLVD Agency. Meiling will also be featured in May 2011 issue BOSL Magazine.

Japan Relief Fundraisings

Hello all.

As everyone knows Japan is currently undergoing one of the biggest crisis humanity seen so far. After the earthquake and the tsunami thousands were killed or lost everything they had. That’s why Maezy Magic and me decided to put a collection of all ongoing fundraises in Second Life on our groupblog. Pacific Crisis Fundraiser

An emergency fundraising effort for the victims of the crisis in the Pacific that hit on the 10th/11th of march is being set up.

SL is an international community, with a strong base in Japan specifically. This disaster is worldwide and affects us all, as a community SL has risen up time and time again to help out in times of distress, including very recently.

In september 2010 11,000 us dollars was raised for the pakistan flood crisis relief fund (UNICEF) at an sl event. An event organised in four days. This is an example of what our community can do, and we are attempting to prepare for a similar, simple but effective, event.

We are calling for anyone who wishes to help with this fundraiser. We will be providing vendors that donate 100% of sales to a charity account (Charity Shelter) for people to place in their stores and at an event location.

The products in these vendors don’t have to be new, but the more new and exclusive items available the more money we will raise, so even a variation of an existing product is appreciated.

We require all brands involved to have one product sold at 100% to the charity, however if more than one item is available the others can be at 100% or 50%.

Please note that 100% of all money raised will go to the charity Americares (http://www.americares.org/). Land was donated by Glam Affair and all volunteers are giving their time without charge.

This hunt will be for Japan, to raise money for the victims.

How to raise the money?
Hunters need the hunt HUD to grab the gifts from the huntprim, without the HUD they CANT do this hunt. The huntprims wont give the contents to anyone when touched without the HUD.

The HUD will be sold for 150L$ at the startpoint Fire sim.

It’s that time again! The *~CC~* will be holding another awesome event. This time something everyone loves: our first Christmas Market!

What does that mean?
You’ll be allowed to sell your own favourite creations, bestseller or seasonal items (christmas/winter), in a beautifuly decorated wintery Christmas Market location. Of course our stalls will include a teleport system again so visitors are able to directly teleport from the event to your shops. There will only be 24 stalls available, but the allowed primcount has been raised from 10 to 12, allowing you to put out 2 freebies aswell.
